Seconds away from the end of the beginning is surreal. This year, some of us got hit hard while others were tremendously fortunate. X means ten and so the new dance is crossing forearms. Sister cities, new friends, solid chumps and moving on.

GoldSweat the 'blogspot' may function sporadically, as something we haven't decided yet, but most of the content we will publish will be in our new apartment downtown. I kinda like the gentlemen/dunce look of this website, so some of us may live vicariously through its 'we absolutely don't give a fuck' persona. Plus, its white. BellyUp dead lifts without a backbrace and I play video games standing up with my mouth closed.

This month we went viral and decided to fall off. Not the deep end. Not off a cliff. Shit, not even off our beds. But off the LOW END! We're bringing back our favorite wax fiend DJ Enki (Oakland Faders / Lower Haters) and Eagle Rock medicinal user, Foniks (5Sgins / GoldSweatLA) to dip us in that disco sweat. Vinyl will melt, needles will break, gold will fall from the sky, and of course, master resident Sticky K will be backed by #2 on the bridge, Loco, so this Starship Enterprise is warp speed ahead!

Vessel Gets Dipped

Vessel brings us back full force to start winter on the bay. Last time Udachi and Breakdown teamed up with Sticky to shake the leaves off that tree. This mix is more or less a compilation of a bunch of 'sounds' I'm feeling at the moment... ranging from juke-dub, dub-step, bmore slayers & Diva anthems, GoldSweat bangers, and some head-nug bullshit. I guess you can say its kinda weird and un-orthodox, but sometimes you gotta get Loco to get it. The entire mix was created in one take using Serato + Mixer + 1 Turntable (my internal mode is on fire). I'll be playing on December 2nd with Sticky K, Pance Party, and Konnect at Infatuation's GoldSweat Sessions and then again at our 2nd Saturday at Triple Crown (December 12th).

This Satur-DAY is Lower Haters 3 Year Anniversary Block Party - end of summer style. Drinks, art, food, dancing, djs, beats, boogie, and of course some GoldSweat action. DJ's Romanowski (woo!), DJ Enki (Oakland Faders), and DJ Platurn (Oakland Faders) will be throwin' it down oldschool style for what looks like the perfect day to sweat some gold. Belly Up on the flier action... duh!

After you get done day-raging, continue the mahem down at Triple Crown for our monthly GoldSweat event with Sticky K. Its not a rumor, our Master Resident will be testing out some new new new new new music from his second Dubsided EP (not out yet, ssshhhh!). 2nd installment from GoldSweat July 11th Recorded Mixes. After my opening set, Big Sounds and The Colonal MC took it up to 11 from the very first song. A little back story about the mix; Big Sounds had to use about 10 pieces of scotch tape to keep his Akai APC40 power sourced. I'm not sure if he picked it up from UPS on his way down to the club or what, but Big Sounds got to the booth with the whole thing still inside the box! Regardless of the precursor, this mix requires your bass bins to be tested.

Right off the bat you are introduced to the one Colonal MC, gracing the electro grind with his statements of hype and rhymes of distinction. Already a staple for many San Francisco Drum & Bass events around the city, the Colonal MC and Big Sounds decided it was time to spread the love. Not far from their roots, about 3/4 the way through Big Sounds decides its time to bring the pain and mayhem ensues.

The first 4 or 5 tracks are coming straight off the plate. It was my little nod to the Dubsided label of which I have been a fan of since its inception. Most of the tracks in this mix are songs I've been feelin' lately during my Bay Bridge commute. There are also some throw back blog haus for the hipster beatniks taking notes. Special shout out to the Colonel MC; the voice of the bashment. He's got a permanent presence in the GoldSweat family and definitely keep an eye out for him paired with any of the GoldSweat DJs.

Here are some shots from GoldSweat July. It was the San Francisco Debut of Dubsided Artist Sticky K and the beginning of his residency at the Triple Crown. Our whole steez is D.I.Y. with an emphasis on next level ish, bringing you the most bang for your buck (our party is only $5 on SATURDAYS!), and living up to our own Gold Standard.

Next month we've got DJ Enki from the world famous Oakland Faders, BUL!M!ATRON from our GoldSweat.LA family, kicking off his Synth City tour (nationwide!), and our very own GoldSweat Graphic Designer, Belly Up.
